Apple Acres Farm is an off-grid, solar-powered, family farm nestled in the forest of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Our seasonal farm retreat is located minutes from historic downtown Houghton and the Keweenaw Peninsula. We are centrally located for guests interested in adventuring around the Keweenaw, hiking the Porcupine Mountains, or exploring the many waterfalls in between.
We believe that small is not only beautiful but also sustainable. As a regenerative farm, we integrate the natural behaviors of our hardworking livestock into our farming practices to improve the health and vitality of the land without the use of chemical inputs. Our farm is home to Nigerian dwarf goats, a free-range chicken flock, and lots of pollinators, including our honey bee hives.
As a small, but diverse regenerative farm, we offer a variety of ways to experience a human-scaled, sustainable farm, from our off-grid Farm Stays to our unique farm tours and classes, including hiking with goats, beekeeping, wild mushroom foraging, goat happy hour, and maple syrup making. We also offer sustainably grown and foraged products, including maple syrup, honey, apple cider vinegar, free-range eggs, seasonal produce, and herbal tinctures. We love hosting small private groups and events and are happy to arrange unforgettable farm adventures! Please plan ahead and see our website for farm stay availability and our tour schedule. We are open April through October.
