Big Lake State Forest Campground
This rustic campground is a perfect destination for quick access to Baraga Plains ORV Trail or fall waterfowl hunting in the Baraga Plains State Waterfowl Management Area. Nestled on the east shore of Big Lake (127 acres) it also provides excellent paddling and fishing opportunities. There are 12 sites for tent and small trailer use. Amenities include vault toilets, hand pump well. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
Location: On the shore of Big Lake near the Baraga Plains ORV Trail. Baraga County, just off of M-28. Drive north on Baraga Plains Road. The road junction is five and a half miles west of the US-41 and M-28/US-141 junction. North on the Plains Road (paved) five miles. Right on Big Lake Road (gravel) three miles.
