Deep Roots is a family-owned and operated farm established in 2019. Typically open from the end of May through Halloween, our 55-acre farm is nestled between Alto and Caledonia and offers something for everyone. Throughout the season, guests can shop fresh, local and homegrown produce, both u-pick and pre-picked, along with a variety of local goods inside our market barn. Our farm kitchen is also open during the season, serving up favorites like homemade donuts, pizza, ice cream and other treats.
In addition to the market, Deep Roots is home to a petting zoo with alpacas, donkeys, horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats and birds, as well as a play area where kids (and adults) can run, climb, slide and enjoy being outside. Our flower fields, filled with zinnias, cosmos and other cut varieties, open at the end of July and remain open through the first frost. In August, our sunflower maze is open for a few short weeks, and in early September, we open our 7-acre corn maze along with our u-pick pumpkin field.
Our mission at Deep Roots is to be a destination that encourages our community to connect with agriculture and create new traditions. Whether you come to pick tomatoes, grab a pumpkin, shop the market barn, enjoy something from the farm kitchen, meet the animals, play in the Farmyard or explore the mazes and fields, we hope that our farm starts to feel like "your" farm! We can’t wait to see you!
