The DeWitt Cottage is located half way between Holland and Saugatuck. It is a turn of the 20th century cottage on a dune about 60 feet above a 240 foot private beach on Lake Michigan. It shares almost four acres of wooded dune and beach with the DeWitt's summer home. There are 2 bedrooms with 3 full sized beds and 1 twin, plus a cot on the screened porch. It has one full bath, beach shower room, fully equipped kitchen (however no dishwasher or washer/dryer), satellite TV, Blue Tooth compatible DVD/CD, radio, outdoor gas and charcoal grills, hammock and private deck. It has just been fully refurbished (adding to its charm). Renters are to supply linens and towels. Pets are OK with approval. The cottage rents weekly from Saturday to Saturday. This cottage is just that. It is not a condo. When you stay here, it's almost like stepping back into a quieter, simpler past. Sit in a rocker or play board games on the screened porch. Watch sunsets while having dinner on the private deck. Go for quiet walks on the beach or through the woods.
It’s great for families with children and pets. We are open to everyone - race, creed, persuasion, gender, nationality, age. etc. The same goes for dogs (and cats). The only people we aren't available to are those that are uncomfortable with that.
