Diamond Lake County Park
On the sparkling waters of Diamond Lake, and adjacent to the Manistee National Forest, visitors are treated to a natural woodland setting. This park offers 60 campsites, 24 of which are full hook-up, and 2 camping cabins. Additionally, this park features a swimming beach, volleyball net, play areas, horseshoe pits, hiking trails, picnic area, and a group camping area. An enclosed shelter is available for campers to use free of charge.
Hike the Birch Grove Trail
Enjoy a hike in Michigan’s north woods. Starting from the trail-head at Diamond Lake County Park, adventurous hikers may trek forth on the 10 mile, circular, Birch Grove Trail. This trail through the Manistee National Forest passes through the only wildflower sanctuary (Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary) within the entire National Forest System. Birch Grove trail also connects with the National Park Service’s 2,000 mile long North Country National Scenic Trail.
