Emily Lake State Forest Campground
This quaint campground is shaded by large conifers and hemlock trees and offers picturesque views of Emily Lake. It has nine sites for tent and small trailer use and is a great fishing destination with ramp access to the southern shore of the 54-acre lake. It is also located near the Bill Nicholls Trail, which provides 38 miles of trail open to a variety of recreational activities. Amenities include vault toilets and a hand-pump well. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
Additional travel information: For visitors following a GPS route along M-38, the map may suggest Pike Lake Road as the shortest route; however the road is primarily gravel. To avoid excessive travel gravel roads, travel via highway from M-38 to M-26 to Emily Lake Road. The campground is located in Houghton County, just 22 miles south of the City of Houghton off M-26. Turn left on to Emily Lake Road and drive 2.5 miles. The campground entrance is on the left. Emily Lake Road is paved for the first half mile and then turns into gravel.
