Body
The Deer Run Trail is a 5-mile loop trail, beginning at the visitor center parking lot, which is open to hiking, mountain biking, cross-county skiing and snowshoeing. The parking lot is plowed in the winter and can be accessed year-round, along with visitor center restrooms. Mostly flat with some hills, the trail winds around the eastern portion of the park through old-growth pines and old stump fields. The trail is divided into three sections, beginning with the Aspen Trail and connecting to the Weary Legs Trail, with crossover trails to shorten your journey offering lengths of 3, 5 and 7.5 miles. The trail is typically traveled in a counterclockwise direction as indicated on the trail map.
