Holly State Recreation Area, located within the northern portion of Oakland County between Pontiac and Flint, is less than an hour drive from the Detroit metropolitan area. The park's 8,007 acres of rolling woodlands and open fields provide opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, boating, disc golf, fishing, mountain biking and much more.
Holly's water park, WhoaZone at Heron Lake, offers two unique courses, where visitors of all ages can climb, jump or slide on easy-to-challenging water obstacles. An additional ticket fee applies.
The nearby Holly Oaks ORV Park utilizes former and active sand and gravel mines, making it a unique destination for all types of ORVs, including full-size vehicles, side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles and ATVs, as well as motorcycles.
Before visiting a state park, boating site or trail, it’s always a good idea to check the latest closures due to weather-related events, planned improvement projects and repairs. Visit Michigan.gov/DNRClosures.
