Howard Chenery Auditorium

Chenery Auditorium, located in the “old” Kalamazoo Central High School just south of downtown Kalamazoo, was dedicated in 1924 making it the oldest auditorium in the area. Each season offers a variety of programs featuring local groups such as the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Kalamazoo Concert Band, Gilmore Keyboard Festival, Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Arts Ensemble, Kalamazoo Childrens Chorus, and many others. Chenery continues to host middle school and elementary concerts, as well as performance sponsored by Education for the Arts. From its inception, the auditorium has been a venue for big band concerts and touring symphonies.
