Independence Oaks County Park

Independence Oaks is a naturally-maintained 1,286-acre park with year-round recreation opportunities, including: picnicking, fishing, swimming, boat launch (non-motorized boats) and rowboat, pedalboat, canoe and kayak rentals. Ball field, sand volleyball courts, playground equipment and horseshoes pits are also available. The park also offers more than 14 miles of marked nature and ski trails and 2.5 miles of paved pathways. In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing, ski rental, ice skating, ice fishing, warming shelters and food concession. The Wint Nature Center offers educational opportunities. Camp Wilderness is a youth group campground, featuring two group areas each with a heated bathhouse with showers and restrooms. Each area has water, electricity and a pavilion. Independence Oaks-North is open for archery deer hunting in the fall.
