The Yellow Trail Loop is located in Island Lake State Recreation Area near Brighton, and stretches for 5.4 miles. The Yellow loop traverses on the east side of the recreation area and often times is connected with the Blue Loop to create a longer day hike. Catch picturesque views of the Huron River and the surrounding wildlife as you escape from the surrounding metro areas. The trail begins with an easy descent near the river and over a bridge as it travels into a thickly forested area. The terrain is relatively easy, making it a perfect hike for families visiting and camping in the area. Hiking and mountain biking are both permitted on the trail; however, mountain bikers are required to travel clockwise on the loop.
