Lightkeepers cottages are located 15 minutes from Port Austin, Michigan and are adjacent to the Lighthouse Park pedestrian entrance. These Michigan cabins are located in the Thumb region which includes Caseville, Port Austin and Port Hope. Each cabin is on the lake with a porch and fire pit overlooking Lake Huron. With over 300 feet of shoreline, there is plenty of room for your enjoyment.
There are currently six cabins available for rent. We have four 2 bedroom cabins and two 1 bedroom cabins. The 2 bedroom cabin sleeps a maximum of 4 adults and the one bedroom cabin sleeps a maximum of 2 adults. Each cabin has a furnished kitchen, bathroom and enclosed porch. Lawn Chairs, BBQ grill and a picnic table are provided for each cabin.
The cabins were built in 1947 and have city water, cable TV, Internet/WIFI and A/C. Enjoy the view of passing ships, wildlife and the beach area.
Enjoy the nearby Point Aux Barques Lighthouse and museum, hike the groomed trails, explore the museums of Huron City or the restaurants of Port Austin and nearby small towns!
Bring your kayak and paddle the Huron Kayak Trail. Or bring your boat and launch next door at Lighthouse Park.
Other area attractions include golf courses, beaches, canoe and kayak rentals, horseback riding, shopping and marinas.
Or just sit back and relax on the lake.
