Mackinac Community Equestrian Center
From the late 1700s through the 1800s, the property that now houses the Mackinac Community Equestrian Center operated as a farm providing vegetables, hay and grain for Fort Mackinac and the town of Mackinac Island. Today, the area provides ample space for our beautiful new facility, which in turn provides a safe and healthy environment for our horses, students and visitors. Our outdoor riding arenas are ideal for lessons, practices and all horse inspired events. In addition, the facility holds an educational center, which provides an adequate space for educational activities as well as meetings. The MCEC provides different lesson packages that cater to those who are here for the summer as well as those who are here for just the day. Lesson packages offer options for riding and driving lessons for children and adults alike. These lesson opportunities provide attendees with the true Mackinac experience. If the need for an educational center or meeting space is required, the MCEC has an exceptional space to accommodate. Services such as white boards, Wi-Fi, audio-visual equipment and catering are also available. The Mackinac Community Equestrian Center is a non-profit organization that strives to preserve and protect Mackinac’s unique horse culture. To do so, we endeavor to provide not only residents, but also Mackinac’s many visitors, with the important horse knowledge and skills that are required to uphold this culture.
