Body
The only known plank road tollhouse still in existence in Michigan is part of this village, along with a furnished farmhouse and an authentic one room schoolhouse where the bell still tolls. Located in the shadow of the Meridian Mall, the Meridian Historical Village provides a slice of 19th-century settler life. The Village contains seven historical buildings: a one-room schoolhouse, farmhouse and barn, general store, inn, 19th-century Village Chapel (which is available to rent for weddings), log cabin and a tollgate house from the plank road era. Open May–Oct., Sat. 10 a.m.–2 p.m. or by appointment. Donations appreciated for admission.

The buildings were all interesting. This is all outside entrances so a hot day is questionable. There is a pavilion and playground for younger children with restroom access.

A fun place to visit in Okemos
I momentary step back in time right in the middle of Okemos. Also a great spot to take some photos of the kids.
