Established in 1987 and located on the campus of Montcalm Community College, Montcalm Heritage Village has grown to include more than 25 historical buildings and hundreds of artifacts from local areas depicting life in Michigan at the turn of the twentieth century.
The village comes alive during the annual Heritage Festival the first weekend in August and includes a one-room schoolhouse reenactment, a working blacksmith shop, vintage base ball games, a quilt show and more. At this time, all buildings are open, with docents to give historical information in most buildings.
The Montcalm Heritage Village is open from May 1 through September 30, and is available for tours for school groups for free and for other small groups for a nominal fee. The Church, Gazebo, and Pavilion are available to rent for special events.
