Negwegon State Park is located in Black River on the northeast side of the Lower Peninsula. The state park has three trails for visitor use, including the Chippewa Trail. The 3.1-mile Chippewa Trail continues beyond the Algonquin Trail and takes you through hardwood forests of aspen, maple and paper birch. The trailhead can be picked up along the Algonquin Trail or at the north end of the parking area.
