The Nonesuch Gallery is just what the name implies. There is truly none other shop like the Nonesuch. It is home to handcrafted items showcasing Upper Michigan artists and is located in downtown Ontonagon, in an historic building which has been situated, near the mouth of the Ontonagon River and Lake Superior's shore.
Owned and run by Edna and Brad Yonker, both of whom are artists in their own right, the main floor showcases Edna's quilt-art and other textile art along with creations that include rustic furniture, antler chandeliers, jewelry, locally made Stormy Kromers and Michigan grown Blueberry products as well as locally roasted coffee beans from Twin Lakes Java, handcrafted dips, mixes, lotions, soaps, boxes and so much more. The downstairs is a wonder as well. This is where Brad has some unique handcrafted antler furniture along with other furniture alongside a large collection of new and used acoustic instruments for sale. While you're there, don't miss seeing Brad's handmade guitars, many handcrafted from local woods. He not only has instruments, he also sells accessories for the instruments, such as strings, tuners, guitar and banjo straps plus guitar humidifiers, etc. The whole building is bursting with color, the old hardwood floors shine and everyone that enters this 1916 historic building is made to feel as welcome as a longtime friend. While there, enjoy a fresh made cup of Java from Twin Lakes Beans!
