North Berrien Historical Society & Museum focuses on the local history of northern Berrien County and includes five buildings used for exhibits and programs. The main gallery features Native Americans, lake resorts, rural schools, Lake Michigan shipwrecks, daily life, and businesses, such as the Watervliet Paper Mill also the Nichols-Beverly Barn presents lumbering and agricultural history with the permanent exhibit "Moving From Forest to Fruit Belt."
