Description
The site of the original fish hatchery building which began operations in 1921. In 2002, a new hatchery was built one quarter-mile northeast of the current visitor center. Adjacent to the visitor center sits the re-created 1914-1935 Wolverine train car which depicts how employees once moved and stocked fish across the state. Nature trails and gift shop are also available. Oden State Fish Hatchery and Visitor Center Grounds are open to the public 365 days. The Visitor Center is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Memorial Day through Labor Day; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (Tuesday-Saturday) and 12-5 p.m. (Sundays) after Labor Day-October 30.
