The original hatchery opened in 1920, but was replaced by a brand-new facility in 2002 and is one of the most advanced locations of its kind. Oden rears brown trout and rainbow trout for both inland and Great Lakes waters. Adjacent to the visitor center sits the re-created 1914-1935 Wolverine train car which depicts how employees once moved and stocked fish across the state. Nature trails and gift shop are available. A DNR Stamp & Go Guide location.
Days and hours of operation: Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Please note, this is for the visitor center at Oden only.
All hatchery buildings remain closed to the public.
Please call ahead. We have very limited staff and cannot guarantee to be open on these days.
Trails and viewing ponds: Open year-round
