Open Skies Project

Welcome to Open Skies Project home of the former Calumet AFS. We give guided tours of this Historical Cold War Radar Station. We have 100 acres with over 70 structures on top of Mt. Horace Greeley, the highest elevation in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Guided 1.5 hour tours Explore one of the most complete Cold War Radar Stations still around. You will learn the history and enjoy touring the housing, communications building, bomb shelter and climb a Radar platform to see the best views of the Keweenaw Peninsula.
