Open Year-Round
At Otter River Sled Dog Training Center and Wilderness Adventures, we offer sled dog rides, tours, and camping trips for individuals and groups. You can come visit us and enjoy dog powered rides and adventures year round in the heart of the UP near the shores of Lake Superior. We also can travel to your location for your family or group event. Dog sled experiences include a three or six mile ride, a half day adventure with trailside lunch, overnight camping, or a trip customized to your satisfaction, all with the opportunity to drive your own team. We also have a Fall Color Tour fueled by dog power, and an Ice Fishing Expedition. If you are interested in more exposure to this great sport, consider lessons with the ability to run a team in one of our local races. Our staff also promotes youth mushing by teaching and providing experiences and equipment to young folks. Owner/musher Tom Bauer has been training and racing dogs for over 20 years starting with recreational mushing and camping in the 1980s. He placed in the top 10 in the 1st UP200 in 1990, and continues to participate in that and other great races throughout the Midwest and Canada including the Beargrease, Copperdog150 and the Ironline. Tom also gives talks about this great sport, and provides volunteer handler training for races. LET US HELP YOU PLAN A GREAT DOGSLEDDING PACKAGE FOR YOUR GROUP OR EVENT!
