Petoskey-Portage Trail

The Portage Trail is located in Petoskey State Park in the northern Lower Peninsula. The Portage Trail is a quick, 1-mile, out and back footpath that traverses through wooded dune area. The trail provides views of the open dune area, as well as Little Traverse Bay and contains relatively easy-to-travel terrain, making it perfect for families with children visiting the area. The trail begins at Dunes Campground and extends to Tannery Creek Campground. Hiking and cross country skiing are allowed on the pathway, weather permitting.
