The Porcupine Mountain Winter Sports Complex, located just inside the entrance of Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, offers a breathtaking Lake Superior views to skiers and snowboarders. There are groomed runs, a bunny hill, a terrain park, glades, backcountry skiing, and powder galore. The state park also has more than 20 miles of trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat-tire biking. Rentals are available, including cross-country skis, snowshoes and adaptive ski equipment.
During the ski season, the complex is open Friday-Monday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. EST. Grooming conditions are posted inside the chalet and on the Porkies Winter Complex Sports Facebook page.
Fall color chairlift rides are available during September and October. Check the website for details.
A well-maintained 18-hole disc golf course is located in the Porcupine Mountains Winter Sports Complex. The course winds through the woods and up to the ski hill offering a beautiful view of Lake Superior. The front 9 holes are accessible. Open late May through mid-October.
