The Port Austin Reef Light is located in Lake Huron approximately 2½ miles north of the Port Austin Harbor. The station was established and first lit in 1878 and modified to its current brick configuration in 1899. It is still operational and acts as an automated beacon to this day. The Port Austin Reef Light Association received title in 2013, and in summer of 2023 began a full restoration. Construction will be complete the summer of 2024 with tours and a light house keeper program starting the summer of 2025. Photo courtesy @cupcakedetroit.jpg
