Portage Paddle Sports

Portage Paddle Sports is the summer destination spot in Houghton Michigan. Located in the Ray Kestner Waterfront Park, we offer two public beaches for swimming and spending your summer days. In addition to the two beaches there is a playground that is the largest for many miles, this will keep the kids busy for hours. Inside the park is a large grass field for all sorts of activities and a beach volleyball court is on-site. Also, on-site we offer paddle board, kayak and bike rentals featuring may other unique rentals like a stand up paddle board that holds up to six people! Our staff safely prepares you and launches you out for your rental, our launch site is about a 30 minute paddle to the famous Portage Lake Lift Bridge. Our bike rentals will take you for a land-based tour of the water-front where you can pedal for an hour or more seeing the Portage Canal on a paved bike path. The fun doesn't stop there, we serve 32+ flavors of the famous Jilbert's Dairy ice cream and Vegan gelato. Concession and foods are also available.
