Porter Creek Natural Area

Porter Creek Natural Area is approximately 100 acres and is located on South Snyder Road in Wilson Township. This Natural Area is truly one of Charlevoix County's most beautiful Parks. Its scenic 1.6-mile trail loop with interpretive signage offers the opportunity to see abundant wildlife, fern meadows, cedar swamps, bogs and a variety of tree species to include: old homestead fruit trees, red pine stand, and upland hardwood trees, all on an easy to moderate walk. Porter Creek crosses the property and during the season, you may spot salmon returning to spawn from Lake Michigan through Lake Charlevoix. Also available for your convenience are park benches, and a trailhead with gravel parking area.
