Located on quiet Lake Gogebic, surrounded by 960,000 acres of Ottawa National Forest, The Root Cellar invites you to experience the pristine wilderness and the reputation of the area’s best fishing. We are a full resort on the east side of Lake Gogebic with an Inn that offers single rooms, deluxe rooms and two suites with hot tubs & whirlpool tubs for your enjoyment. Looking for cabins? We have those too, our spacious cabins are great for larger groups. On the property is a wonderful rustic restaurant known for it's fine dining. Lake Gogebic, situated at the western tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, (UP) is a hidden gem. It’s 14,782 surface acres provide bountiful fishing and boating activities. At about 20 miles long, Gogebic has an average depth of 17 feet with a few holes as deep as 37 feet. Accessible from the resort are hiking trails, ATV trails, fishing and hunting. It's an ideal setting for outdoor enthusiasts.
