The Silver Creek Pathway is in the state forest along the Pine River near Luther, Michigan. The trail consists of one, 4.5-mile loop that extends between two state forest campgrounds, Silver Creek Campground and Lincoln Bridge Campground, providing picturesque views of both sides of the Pine River. The trail is open to both hikers and mountain bikers as it passes through moderate, wooded ridge terrain. Anglers are also commonly found along the route, as the river provides a bounty of rainbow trout.
Backpacking (dispersed camping) is allowed along the pathway, as long as you are one mile away from both Silver Creek and Lincoln Bridge campgrounds. If you are looking to backcountry camp, follow the west side of the loop to find campsites overlooking the river. Learn more about backpacking and dispersed camping.
