Wilderness-Big Stone Trail

This interpretive trail finds its home in the Wilderness State Park in the northern most part of the Lower Peninsula. It is situated along the beaches of Big Stone Bay, offering hikers the perfect view of the lake. The Big Stone Trail is often combined with the Red Pine and Hemlock trails to complete an entire 4-mile, interpretive loop. The trailhead for the Big Stone portion of this loop can be found across the parking lot from the park’s day-use area. Big Stone trail itself is a 0.7-mile walk that brings you to Big Stone Creek, follows along to Goose Pond, and ends up merging with the Pondside Trail.
