Body
The William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail State Park runs for 22 miles through the forest and hills from Hart to Montague. William Field turned the old, dismantled railroad in the 1980s into what is now a recreational trail. A trail rich in history, winds through farms, orchards and forests that fill the area. The Montague end of the trail can be picked up next to a campground on White Lake. From there, you will pass the world’s largest working weathervane, Christmas tree farms, the Clear Springs Nature Preserve and the village of New Era. The Montague Trailhead can be found heading west off of the US-31 Montague exit. The Hart trailhead can be found at a parking lot east off of the US-31 Hart exit (149).
