The Traverse City Beach Bums are a minor league baseball team located in Traverse City, Michigan. Playing in the independent Frontier League, the Beach Bums are Traverse City's first professional baseball team since 1914. Regular season games begin the third week in May and run through Labor Day. Post season play begins in early September with the league championship played around the 14th of September. Wuerfel Park features a bowled stadium with just over 3,500 chair back seats, 48 private (4 person) tables, a five level party deck (perfect for group outings, family reunions or business meetings) and extensive lawn seating that begins behind the home dugout, encompasses the entire outfield fence and ends behind the visiting team bullpen. A smoke-free park.
