Learn to identify Michigan's native trees and explore how this skill can enhance your knowledge of the state's ecology and your local surroundings through this Becoming an Outdoors Woman clinic!
Hosted at Ludington State Park, participants of this program will spend one hour in the classroom exploring the basics of tree identification by covering topics like tree names, features and families. The second part of the class will be spent outside, where you will practice your new identification skills with the instructor.
The cost for the class is $25, which includes a course book. To register, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the "Purchase a license" button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Becoming an Outdoors Woman tab.
A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
