For more than 50 years, on the third weekend in July, people from all across the nation gather in Evart for a wonderful acoustic music festival known as the FunFest. If you love traditional music, this is the place for you!
This is a nice family-friendly traditional acoustic music festival. Almost all activities take place outdoors or in open-air pavilions, so lots of fresh air. There are workshops for all types of acoustic instruments, and all levels of ability. There is open jamming, and evening concerts. Most attendees camp at the Osceola Country Fairgrounds. The Original Dulcimer Players Club is a registered Michigan non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the Michigan history and music of the hammered dulcimer. The club was formed in 1963. We sponsor local gatherings for musicians to jam and exchange tunes. We also have an education and outreach program where we match new dulcimer players with mentors.
