The 40th annual Michaywé Arts & Crafts Fair features one-of-a-kind original artwork, handmade crafts, distinctive indoor and outdoor décor, creative natural products, beautiful jewelry, and unique foods. Located just south of Gaylord, the fair draws thousands of visitors from all over northern Michigan each summer. The juried show will be held in the park-like setting adjacent to Michaywé’s award-winning Inn the Woods restaurant and picturesque Pines Golf Course. Artists and crafters will showcase their work in more than 100 booths both inside the clubhouse and under the shade trees around the pond and fountain at the two-day fair. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11. The Michaywé grounds and clubhouse are located at 1535 Opal Lake Road, a few miles south of downtown Gaylord. (Take I-75 Exit 279 and follow the signs.) Admission is free. A “Kids’ Zone” will feature a wildlife-guessing game on Friday with Hartwick Pines naturalist Craig Kasmer; and two build-your-own projects sponsored by Home Depot on Saturday.
