Since 2004, SMLC friends have gathered at the Conservancy Farm for the Annual Bat Count. Please join us for this longstanding tradition where we will count the number of bats flying out of our big red barn. The bats sleep during the day and emerge at dusk, flying off into the Superior Greenway to feed on insects. The more eyes we have watching, the more accurate our count will be.
This is a family friendly event. Bring lawn chair or blankets if you’d like. Be prepared for mosquitoes and an evening temperature drop. No pets please.
This will also double as our July Full-Moon Campfire. The campfire will be lit at dusk, but feel free to show up early to walk the trails. Bring friends, blankets, chairs, and campfire refreshments. Please, no pets. Donations to support the Conservancy are accepted and welcome.
