On the iconic bell tower at the University of Michigan, British virtuoso Trevor Workman (UK) plays classical transcriptions and the iconic "Prelude" by Gladys Watkins, one of the first women to publish original carillon music.
The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance presents our 2025 summer carillon concerts every Monday in July. All concerts begin at 7 pm at either Lurie Tower or Burton Memorial Tower. Make yourself at home on the benches, in the grass, or bring something comfortable to sit on. Concerts are free, and family-, pet-, and picnic-friendly (but please leave dogs who are prone to barking at home). The music goes on rain or shine!
If you have any questions during the performance, don’t hesitate to ask concert staff who will be handing out programs at the tower door.
