Join us for Great Lakes Bay Animal Society’s 13th Fast & Furriest 5K Run/Walk on Saturday May 2, 2026 with (or without) your dog at Midland City Forest. There will be two chip-timed events this year. Over 300 participants are expected to attend. Runners and walkers come from throughout Michigan to participate with their dogs.
This is a timed event with prizes, t shirts, and medals for first, second, and third place in male and female categories. You can run or walk, with or without your dog. This is a family-friendly and kid-friendly event and the trail is stroller-friendly
This event is a 5k Trail Run/Walk. Runners and walkers are encouraged to bring their canine companions. Runners and walkers without dogs are also encouraged to come participate in the fun! Children 6 and under can run/walk for FREE!
Early registration opens 12/1/25 and goes through 4/25/26 for a cost of $35. Event t-shirts and goodie bags are guaranteed to those who register by April 20, 2026. Late registration starts April 26, 2026 and goes through day-of-event registration at $40
Early packet pick up will be at Midland City Forest on Friday, May 1 from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Or you may pick up your packet on race day prior to the race from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
