Outdoor Adventure Center - Senior Stroll: Spring Migration at Pointe Mouillee
Contact
Join a naturalist for a casual stroll through one of our state parks or local historic areas. Each month we'll focus on a topic related to natural or cultural history. Wear your walking shoes and dress for the weather – we'll go out rain, snow, or shine! Meet at the designated location. Maps will be provided upon registration. Trail conditions vary – see descriptions.
In April, we'll explore Pointe Mouillee State Game Area, a hot spot for spring bird migration. It serves as a gateway from Lake Erie to the Detroit River and a rest stop for many species of waterfowl, shorebirds and songbirds. The "trails" run along the crest of gravel dikes skirting the wetland. A limited number of binoculars will be available for loan.
Preregistration is required. This is a free offsite event.
