STORIED. The HERstory Session: Jewish Women’s Contribution to Music
Contact
STORIED is back at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts for its sixth session: HERstory Session.
Spanning decades of music and multiple genres, STORIED. The HERstory Session reframes audiences' understanding of women’s roles in the music industry. Rather than presenting women as footnotes, muses, or background vocalists, the program highlights Jewish women as powerhouses, decision makers, innovators, and cultural architects who shaped the music we love.
The HERstory Session showcases Jewish women across the music ecosystem, from artists and songwriters to producers, executives, managers, and contributions made behind the scenes. The program also weaves in biblical and cultural narratives that influenced modern music, connecting ancient Jewish storytelling to contemporary sound. This concert will spotlight different aspects of Jewish identity, exploring themes of community, spirituality, and resilience. This unforgettable evening promises a journey through music and storytelling as we honor the bonds between Jewish culture and Female artists. In a setting similar to MTV Unplugged meets VH1 Storytellers, and backed by a 4-piece band, Benji will alternate between storytelling and sharing the stage for musical performances.
