Algonac Clay Historical Museum

The museum is a treasure trove of artifacts and maritime history, including Chris-Craft and Gar Wood Boats. Chris Smith of Chris-Craft originally founded and manufactured wooden boats in Algonac. Gar Wood, mentored by Chris Smith, set the world speed record of 124 mph in 1932 with his hydroplane Miss America X in the St. Clair River.
