285 acres. Frontage: 2,200 feet on Barney's Lake, 1,730 feet on Lake Michigan. Habitats include open meadows with apple trees, hardwood forest, sedge meadows, peatlands and cedar swamp. Once-cleared fields are now a study in plant succession; stones are piled along the old field and pasture boundaries. A total of 1-3/4 miles of trails on the upland portion of the property, east of Barney's Lake Rd. Located in north-central Beaver Island about three miles southwest of St. James; parking area is on Barney's Lake Road North.
