Baxter Bridge State Forest Campground
This beautiful, rustic campground is partially shaded by an old red pine plantation. Its proximity to the Manistee River has made it a popular destination for canoeing, kayaking and tubing. There is a kayak landing within the campground, making it accessible for canoe camping. Anglers can enjoying fishing for brown trout and rainbow trout. The North Country Trail, located just a mile from the campground, offers miles of scenic hiking.
There are 25 sites for tent and small trailer use. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. The campground is located 12 miles northwest of Manton via M-42 and 31 Road.Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
