 Meet a sailor, hear the stories. See artifacts from the ships of the Great Lakes. Learn about the men and women who earned their livings – and gave their lives – on the great freshwater seas. We offer our visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in Great Lakes shipping history. See the uniforms, the navigational tools and equipment, and hear former sailors tell their stories. The museum honors all who made their living on the waterways: Great Lakes captains and their crews, Coast Guard Lighthouse Keepers, pre-colonial French and British traders, and Native American traders.
