Loud Creek Cross-Country Ski and Hiking Trail
This trail has seven interconnecting loops ranging from 1.36 miles to 4.34 miles long. The complete trail is signed with "You Are Here" maps, difficulty rating information and blue diamond shaped confidence markers. The peaceful trail traverses a mix of northern hardwoods and some large pine. Several bridge crossings lead hikers across streams, as the gently sloping trail takes them past beaver ponds and up gently rolling hills. Some short stretches of the trail will go from 5% grade to 25% and will be more difficult for some hikers. The trail is very popular for jogging, walking dogs and families with younger children. In the winter there is a sled hill a short walk from the parking lot. Beaver ponds & stream crossings provide opportunities to see deer, beaver and a variety of waterfowl.
