The campground is nestled in a pine forest along the banks of the Manistee River. It is home to 25 campsites, five of which are walk-in sites located near the waters edge (perfect for paddling). It is a popular destination for hiking and backpacking because it connects to the North Country Trail and is part of the 21-mile Fife Lake Loop connecting it to Spring Lake State Forest Campground.
Easy access to the Manistee River via a kayak landing make it popular with canoe campers and tubers making it an ideal spot for paddling, fishing and wildlife viewing. Amenities include vault toilets and a well-hand pump. Nearby trails provide additional recreational opportunities for off-road vehicle (ORV) and snowmobiles.This campground allows ORVs to be ridden from campsites to access local ORV routes and roads open for ORV use. ORV access is only available from the north. Side-by-Sides should not cross bridge over Manistee River south of the campground. All other ORV use within the campground is prohibited.Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
