The Red Loop is inside South Higgins Lake State Park in mid-Michigan. The Red Loop is a part of the Marl Lake Trail System, composed of the Red, Green and Blue Trails. The Red Loop is 3.5 miles long and is the middle leg of the entire trail system. From the Red Loop, you will be able to see scenic views of Marl Lake as well as pass through several wetlands and hardwood forests. Hiking and cross-country skiing are permitted along this trail, however, it should be noted that deer hunting is also permitted in this area during the specific seasons.
