St. Andrew's Hall/The Shelter
431 East Congress St., Detroit, MI 48226
Body
The converted church is still home to the storied live music venue (two, actually; the main floor concert area and the more intimate Shelter in the basement). Friday night allows for three floors of fun, with the Shelter, St. Andrew's and the upper-level Burns Room affording all of the techno, hip-hop and rock one can stomach. The main floor concert area is all wide-open hardwood with a staple-shaped balcony above for elevated seating (from CityGuide.aol.com).
