Thorne Swift Nature Preserve

30 acres. Frontage: 950 feet along Lake Michigan with 300 feet as public beach. A mix of upland dunes and lowland cedar swamp. Facilities include a total of 1-1/2 miles of trails, dune-observation platform, pond-observation platform, gazebo, amphitheater and Elizabeth Kennedy Nature Center. The preserve and Nature Center are open daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day 10 am to 1/2-hour after sunset. Parking fee is $5. for non-township residents (no charge for Conservancy members). Located along Lower Shore Drive off of M-119 approximately 3.8 miles northwest of Harbor Springs.
