For nearly a century, Lafayette Coney Island has been the go-to spot for one of Detroit’s signature foods: The Coney Dog. 

Take a natural casing hot dog, add some ground beef chili, onions and mustard to a steamed bun, and you’re ready to chow down. Add some chili fries in the mix and wash it all down with a pop – it doesn’t get more Michigan than that. No knife and fork needed.
