Located 20 miles west of Copper Harbor in Keweenaw County. Eagle River was founded in 1843, one of the earliest settlements on the peninsula.

The Eagle River Lighthouse was built in 1855 during the height of the Copper Boom, it served as a beacon guiding ships into the busy Eagle River port.
